What Not To Shred?

Obviously being a document shredding company, we always talk about shredding your documents and protecting your identity. The question comes up a lot on what should I NOT shred.

Most of these are obvious ones but it is a good idea to review. These are paper or physical items that you should keep forever in a safe location.

Birth Certificate
Pensions
Marriage license
Insurance Policies
Passport
Social Security Card
Wills
Car Titles
Deed to your home
Mortgage Papers

These are not the only documents you should save, but it covers some of the most important items. If you are ever unsure, just give ProShred CT a call. We are always available to answer any questions you may have and our trucks are always ready to roll.

  1. We were building a campfire to roast some marshmallows one time. We needed some paper to start the fire. The kids found a bad of paper by the trash. It even had someone's Social Security card. It's just scary.
